Inspired by a successful event organised by my fractivist friend Gayzer Frackman, from the Fylde, Lancashire, this is all about the Tories crude and ugly Transparency of Lobbying, non-Party Campaigning, and Trade Union Administration Bill aka the Gagging Bill.
| If the Governments new gagging order is implemented it will crush the right to freedom of speech of every man, woman and child in the country. If you already feel that the coalition is turning on the people it has sworn to protect, unite in silent protest. Peaceful protest and lawful objection have been our biggest strength. It is clear the government will stop at nothing to pursue their own agenda. Pandering to big business and the oil and gas industry. Aggressively stifling the protectors in Balcombe. It is not now just about fracking! It is much bigger than that. In a show of unity gag yourself and join us outside Oxfam in Bridgend town centre (close to the Bus Station) between 11am and 1pm on Saturday 12th October. Make placards and banners if you wish. Fancy dress is optional. But you cannot speak. You have been silenced! Let our silence scream this is wrong!We will be armed with petitions to gather support from the people of Bridgend against this insidious attack on what is left of our democracy. |

Shadow Commons leader Angela Eagle called the bill “one of the worst pieces of legislation I’ve seen any government produce in a very long time”. And that is really saying something when you look back at the last few years!
